At AAU, strong leadership is essential to fulfilling our ambitions as a mission-driven university in a constantly changing world. Leadership is not something we succeed in alone – it requires community, reflection, and dialogue.

HR offers support in facilitating a start-up workshop if you are a group of leaders who wish to establish a leadership network. 

What can we help with?

We help you define the framework for what you want to gain from the network, how often you wish to meet, and how you – following our initial support – will continue to run the network independently.

We support the establishment of a leadership network characterised by being a safe and confidential space where leaders meet on a regular basis to share experiences, discuss current leadership challenges and inspire each other in the development of their leadership practice.

The purpose of engaging in a leadership network is to:

• strengthen a shared understanding of good leadership at AAU
• create space for reflection and collective learning
• gain sparring and inspiration for concrete leadership tasks
• contribute to a strong and sustainable leadership community
• find a professional community with other leaders (who may share the experience that leadership can sometimes be lonely)

Who is the leadership network for?

The offer is aimed at you as a leader at AAU, as well as the leaders you are able to recruit to your network. We do not intervene in the composition of the network, but expect you to bring together a group that is motivated to participate.

Examples of groups we have already helped get started:

• a group of section leaders from the same department
• smaller groups originating from a larger, established leadership forum in Shared Services

HR supports the process and helps facilitate the start-up, ensuring that you have a solid foundation for running and maintaining the network.
