Release certificate

On this page, you can read more about release certificates and who should process them

Some employees in part-time positions can only receive supplementary unemployment benefits if the employer completes a release certificate.

The release certificate gives the employee the right to terminate their position without notice if they are offered another job with more hours per week.

It is the hiring manager who decides whether a release certificate can be signed.

Areas are responsible for signing, returning and filing the release certificate in the employee's personnel file.

Note that the release form also asks if the employer can confirm that the employee is free to organise their own working hours.

It is not a requirement that the management confirms that the employee is free to organise their working hours. In other words, it is sufficient to confirm that the employee can terminate their position without notice.

The field that confirms whether the employee is free to organise their own working hours does not need to be filled in if the employee is not free to organise their own working hours.
