Fractional time off
If the employee wants to take a fraction of a day off, the time off can be calculated in hours using this converter or the following formula:
Daily working hours (number of weekly working hours/5) x Fraction of day to be taken = number of hours to be taken.
If an employee works 37 hours per week and wants to take 0.5 special holiday days, 37 hours/5 = 7.4 * 0.5 special holiday days = 3.7 hours off. This is equivalent to 3 hours and 42 minutes. (0,7*60 = 42).
On the other hand, if an employee works 30 hours per week, 30 hours/5 = 6 * 0.5 special holiday = 3 hours off.
