At the beginning of each semester, we invite all new and "old" AAU accompanying spouses/partners for a info-meeting to welcome you all to a new semester. At this info-meeting, we offer you breakfast, discuss the semester plan, introduce our services, announce new initiatives, and get to know each other.

Are you looking to find a job in Denmark? 

The International Staff Unit (ISU) has an established collaboration with AAU Career. AAU Career offers professional advice and guidance at Aalborg University (AAU). AAU+1's career councelour is Christian Friis-Nielsen who is an experienced professional from AAU career. 

Christian is able to guide you through the following topics: 

• Cover letter and CV (resume)
• What type of jobs to apply for
• What you can offer in your area in Denmark
• The Danish business world and the different industries
• Unemployment benefits and unions
• Knowledge about upcoming job seminars, careers fairs, etc. 
• Internship and student jobs

Once every semester ISU hosts an AAU+1 cultural awareness workshop, aimed specifically at our newly arrived spouses.

We believe that networking is essential. Therefore, we offer you various opportunities to create a social network in Denmark. 

Networking with AAU +1

1. Join our Facebook group AAU +1 where we share all the new intiatives for networking, career advice and being social. This group is also a platform for you to get in touch with other Aalborg University (AAU) international spouses/partners.
2. Join in on one of the bi-weekly coffee meetings! These are informal meet ups where all you can chat with other +1's or just listen in! See schedule meetings under events.
3. Become part of the AAU+1 volunteer coordination group! This group is composed by international AAU spouses/partners such as yourself who wish to develop new initiatives in collaboration with the International Staff Unit (ISU). To become a volunteer, contact ISU
